Scholarships for SPM Graduates & Undergraduate Students at Private Universities 2018

If you got rejected by UPU, or just want a back-up plan in case you do, then perhaps a private university is for you. Yes, it does cost more than IPTAs. However, many of these universities offer 'in-house' scholarships. You will need to either have an offer letter or apply to these universities to be eligible, but you can do so directly via Afterschool.my. Here are some of these scholarships that are open to SPM students. 

IUKL Scholarship

Overview

IUKL scholarships are made available to students who do well in their academic pursuits at the elementary levels, including SPM, STPM, O-Level, A-Level, UEC, Foundation Studies and Diploma.

Criteria

• Malaysian Citizen
• Must apply and be accepted to an IUKL course prior to applying for scholarship
• The scholarship is awarded for the 1st semester ONLY.
• For the 2nd semester onwards, the entitlements are based on the IUKL Tuition Waiver Scheme
• Excellent results as per mentioned below:

Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarship

Overview

The Curtin Malaysia Merit Scholarship offers students discounts on tuition at Curtin University Sarawak based on their SPM/O-Level results for Foundation courses and STPM/A-Levels/UEC results for bachelor’s Degree courses.Criteria

Overview

AIMST University are offering scholarships to outstanding students who apply to the institution, including the Top Achiever Scholarship* and the 100% Scholarship.

Overview

MMU Scholarships

Overview

Multimedia University (MMU) currently offer merit scholarships for both their foundation and undergraduate programmes

Amount

Up to 50% of tuition fees Foundation, Diploma & Degree – Whole duration based on exam results. Merit scholarship recipients are eligible to continue to receive a scholarship throughout the remaining duration of their studies in Multimedia University subject to excellent academic performance depending on the scholarship percentage category that they hold.

Criteria

• Malaysian citizens.
• New Student Intake effective 2018 – successfully received an Admission offer letter.
• This scholarship will be offered to eligible candidate upon enrolment to MMU.
• Have not received any Scholarship/Financial Assistance from any other agency / organisation except PTPTN loan.
• The scholarship is open for all programmes except Law.
• Scholarship recipients must maintain CGPA of 2.75 throughout their duration of study.
• The duration of scholarship will end upon completion of the study period specified by MMU.

• 4As & Above – 15%

• CGPA 3.5 – 3.74 – 25%
• UEC 12 points – 50%,14 Points – 25%

• CGPA ≥ 3.75 – 30%
• CGPA equivalent for A-Level: A* – 4.0 A – 4.0 B – 3.7 C – 3.0 D – 2.3 E – 2.0 F – 1.3
