With the raising expenses of medical education around the world, it is a fair assumption to note that more students will choose to study at home. However, the value of foreign education is still very much valued by employers and students.
Medical education in Malaysia is viewed as prestigious due to the popular perception that it may lead to a secure job and a wider future. Therefore, many parents out there wish to see their children do medicine and become doctors.
There are many institutions in Malaysia that offer medical education to Malaysians, which gives parents the opportunity to select the institution that meets their expectations. Among the many options comes Perdana University's medical programme.
Perdana University offers a medical degree programme in partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) with the full course offered in Malaysia. This collaboration brings opportunities for students who wish pursue medical education to study at an institution that is ranked in the top 400 world universities in medicine. The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) has been at the forefront of educating healthcare professionals since 1784. Additionally, RCSI is ranked in the top 200 institutions in Europe.
Recently, Perdana University's medical programme in collaboration with RCSI was fully accredited by the Irish Medical Council (IMC) and the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and recognised by the Malaysian Medical council (MMC).
About Perdana University
Perdana University was established in 2011 under the Public-Private Partnership unit of the Prime Minister’s department. It began with two medical programmes: the Doctor of Medicine, offered through the Graduate School of Medicine, and the Bachelor of Medicine conducted by the Perdana University-Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland School of Medicine. Perdana University has in place an interim campus that is well furnished, equipped and wired to provide ready access to online education platforms even when one is on the move.
Currently, Perdana University offers foundation programme in science, medical degree programme, occupational therapy, information technology, a number of postgraduate programmes in health and information technology.
