At the heart of academic excellence lies a commitment that transcends conventional lecture room boundaries. It is a commitment to instil values, promote societal transformation, and empower the future leaders of tomorrow. This ethos is vividly embodied by three remarkable educators at the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU).
Associate Professor Dr Rohana Sham of APU's School of Business (SoB), joins forces with Senior Lecturer Ts Dr Noraini Ahmad and Lecturer Ms Syazwani Yahaya, both of whom share her passion for driving positive change. Together, they have been recently appointed as the President, Secretary, and Assistant Secretary, respectively, of the Association of Malaysian Environment-Behaviour Researchers (AMER) for the term 2024-2026.
AMER stands as a beacon in the realm of Malaysian research organisations, dedicated to fostering networks and collaboration within the field of Environmental Psychology and Environmental Behaviour studies. Its reach extends beyond national borders, engaging with institutions, establishments, and universities globally. Today, AMER proudly boasts members from over 30 universities and industries across the world.
“AMER is poised to open the gateway, nurturing the next generation of researchers and fostering a vibrant culture of research collaboration within our community. The ultimate goal is to ensure an enhanced quality of life through innovation and knowledge exchange for all members,” remarked the newly elected President, Assoc. Prof. Dr Rohana Sham.
The APU community takes immense pride in congratulating this dynamic trio for their significant appointments. Dr Rohana Sham, Ts Dr Noraini Ahmad, and Ms Syazwani Yahaya's dedication to these pivotal roles, undertaken alongside their existing responsibilities, reflects their unwavering commitment to advancing not only their achievements but also contributing to the progress of the university and society on a broader scale.
As these educators assume leadership roles within AMER, APU’s community is confident that their walk-the-talk approach will continue to inspire positive change, foster social cohesion, and empower individuals within and beyond our academic community. They are highly recognised for exemplifying the values of APU and demonstrating how academia can be a driving force for societal advancement.
To conclude, the trio's dedication to societal work sets a high standard for academic leadership and underscores APU's commitment to shaping a better, more sustainable future for all.
