SHAH ALAM, 23 February 2019: Management and Science University (MSU) awarded five hundred seventy-seven diplomas, a thousand and hundred seventy-one bachelor’s degrees, and sixty-three postgraduate degrees at its 24th Convocation Ceremony here. An honorary degree was conferred, and five categories of special awards of excellence presented to 59 recipients from among the graduating Class of 2019.
The first of the three-session ceremony witnessed the proclamation of the new MSU Chancellor, the Raja Muda of Negeri Kedah Darul Aman, His Royal Highness Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Ibni Sultan Sallehuddin.
In attendance were MSU Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Wan Mohd Zahid Wan Mohd Noordin, MSU President Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab. Yajid and MSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid.
The recipient of the honorary degree at the 24th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University (MSU) was recognized for his contribution setting a global standard in quality accreditation of international education. Prof. Dr T. Chan Basaruddin, Director of the Executive Board, National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education, Indonesia was conferred the MSU Honorary Doctorate in Education Management.
The coveted Chancellor Gold Medal Award went to Bachelor in Accountancy (Honours), Tengku Sarah Tengku Ahmad Zulkifli who received a trophy, three thousand Ringgit in cash, and an eighteen thousand Ringgit scholarship for higher studies at MSU.
Bachelor of Education (Honours)-TESL, Pavithra Pillay Mani and Diploma in Culinary Arts, Husna Abdul Rahman each received the President Award, which comes with a trophy, two thousand Ringgit in cash, and a fifteen thousand Ringgit scholarship for higher studies at MSU.
The Mohd Shukri Yajid Outstanding Award, presenting a trophy, one thousand Ringgit in cash, and fifteen thousand Ringgit in scholarship, went to Bachelor in Computer Forensic (Honours) Chua Shang Ren.
Twenty-nine graduates received the Academic Award, and twenty-six the Industry Award. Sponsors of the Industry Award include MSU Medical Centre, Pharmaniaga Berhad, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Affin Islamic Bank Berhad, Top Glove Corporation Berhad, Celcom Axiata Berhad, Puncak Niaga Holdings Berhad, Menara Optometry Centre Sdn Bhd, Fonterra Brands Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Philips Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Acer Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Canon Medical Systems Sdn Bhd and Palace of the Golden Horses.
The 24th Convocation Ceremony of Management and Science University (MSU) also presented MSU’s first batch of Bachelor in Islamic Management (Hons), Bachelor in Creative Video and Photography (Hons), Bachelor in Education (Visual Arts) (Hons), Diploma in Sport Science, Diploma in Patisserie Arts and Master of Clinical Pharmacy as well as trainees of the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM).
